Was not Joseph's the last dispensation? Did he come again?

A family member mentioned that Pres. Hinckley had told an interviewer that he (Pres. Hinckley) had not seen Christ. Despite his plain words, members of the Church assured themselves that he had seen the Lord. My child thought that we ought to take him at his word. Likewise, it is so hard to read the scriptures without bringing with us our flawed assumptions.

Thank you, Denver, for pointing these out.Stevehttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13745901786962474174noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3880654315943365046.post-88367701970116779242010-08-22T19:03:54.707-06:002010-08-22T19:03:54.707-06:00AK has left a new comment on your post "2 Nep...AK has left a new comment on your post "2 Nephi 31: 2":

So the Rameumptom is not really a holy stand, it is a mirror.

[Reposted by the CM]Denver Snufferhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13850530477432070456noreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3880654315943365046.post-51191361173812340452010-08-21T22:53:52.571-06:002010-08-21T22:53:52.571-06:00I just noticed that the word Baptism or baptize is...I just noticed that the word Baptism or baptize is mentioned 12 times in this particular chapter. This should be called the Baptism chapter of the Book of Mormon:-). But I imagine we'll be getting around to that. Lots of "repent" too!AnonymousNVnoreply@blogger.comtag:blogger.com,1999:blog-3880654315943365046.post-66592077546449019312010-08-21T20:41:18.179-06:002010-08-21T20:41:18.179-06:00I just happened to be reading, anew, the Law of Co...I just happened to be reading, anew, the Law of Consecration part of Approaching Zion and am always amazed at Hugh's writing, and his ability to say enough without saying too much.

His discussion of the Hopi and how we absolutely have to start moving in the direction of the Lamanites if we have any hope of being saved was (and still is) phenomenal. If only we'd paid more attention to what we were doing when we overran their sacred lands and soil to tap into the Black Mesa - all to take the "liver" out of the earth and profit from it. It was worth the wait.

Many of us waited for years to read Hugh's last work "One Eternal Round."

It likewise, was worth the wait.Donald Dannerhttps://www.blogger.com/profile/13097095599475727149noreply@blogger.com
